  2. In a large bowl, cream the softened butter and the remaining 3 cups of sugar until light and fluffy, which takes about 5 to 7 minutes.
  3. Add the eggs one at a time, beating well after each addition.
  4. Stir in the mashed bananas along with the vanilla and lemon extracts.
  5. In another bowl, combine the flour and baking soda. Add this mixture to the creamed mixture alternately with sour cream, beating just until combined.
  6. Pour the batter into the prepared pan (it will be full).
  7. Bake at 325 degrees F until a toothpick inserted near the center comes out clean, which takes about 75 to 85 minutes.
  8. Cool for 10 minutes before removing the cake from the pan. Allow it to cool completely on a wire rack.
  9. To make the glaze, whisk together confectioners sugar, the additional 1/2 teaspoon vanilla extract, and enough milk until smooth. Drizzle over the cooled cake.
  10. Store in the refrigerator, and the cake may also be frozen for up to 1 month.
