  • 1/4 cup light soy sauce
  • 1 1/2 tablespoons honey
  • 1 tablespoon grated fresh ginger
  • 1 clove garlic, minced
  • 1 pound salmon fillets
  • 1 teaspoon sesame oil
  • 2 teaspoons sesame seeds

  1. In a bowl, whisk together the soy sauce, honey, ginger, and garlic until well mixed. Set aside 1/4 of this marinade.
  2. Place the salmon fillets in a shallow dish and pour the remaining marinade over the top. Cover with plastic wrap and let it chill in the fridge for 5 minutes.
  3. Heat the sesame oil in a large skillet over medium-high heat.
  4. Remove the salmon from the marinade, shaking off any excess, and place the fillets skin-side up in the hot oil. Cook for 4 minutes.
  5. Discard the unused marinade from the shallow dish. Flip the salmon over, drizzle the reserved marinade on top, and sprinkle with sesame seeds. Cook until the salmon flakes easily with a fork, about 5 to 7 minutes. Flip the salmon again, remove the skin, and cook for an additional minute.
