Ingredients

Main Ingredients
  • 1 lb boneless, skinless chicken thighs or breasts Alternatively, use tofu or shrimp.
  • 1/4 cup honey Maple syrup can be used as a substitute.
  • 1/4 cup soy sauce Low-sodium preferred; can substitute with coconut aminos or tamari for gluten-free.
  • 4 cloves garlic, minced Fresh garlic is recommended for better flavor.
  • 1 tablespoon freshly grated ginger Optional but adds great flavor.
  • 1 tablespoon olive oil For cooking the chicken.
  • to taste Salt and pepper To season the chicken.
  • Optional garnishes: sliced green onions and sesame seeds For added flavor and presentation.

Method

Preparation
  1. Start by cutting your chicken into bite-sized pieces.
  2. Heat olive oil in a large skillet over medium-high heat.
  3. Add the chicken, seasoning it with salt and pepper. Sauté until golden and cooked through, about 5-7 minutes.
  4. In a bowl, whisk together honey, soy sauce, minced garlic, and ginger. Pour this sauce over the cooked chicken.
  5. Raise the heat to high and cook for another 2-3 minutes until the sauce thickens and glazes the chicken beautifully.
  6. Garnish with green onions and sesame seeds before serving.

Notes

For extra flavor, allow the chicken to marinate in the honey-soy sauce mixture for 10 minutes before cooking. Make sure to use a non-stick skillet or a well-oiled pan to achieve a perfect glaze.
