Preparation
- In a bowl, cream together the softened butter and sugar.
- Beat in the eggs and vanilla extract until well mixed.
- In a separate bowl, combine flour, baking soda, and salt.
- Gradually add the flour mixture to the creamed mixture, alternating with the sour cream. Mix well.
- Gently fold in the chopped apples.
- Spoon the mixture into a greased 9-inch square baking pan.
- In a small bowl, mix the topping ingredients together until well combined.
- Sprinkle the topping over the batter.
Baking
- Bake at 350°F for 35 to 40 minutes or until a toothpick comes out clean.
Serving
- Once baked, let the Apple Pie Bars cool for a few minutes in the pan before cutting into squares or bars.
- Serve warm on their own or with a scoop of vanilla ice cream or drizzle with caramel sauce.
Notes
Store leftovers in an airtight container at room temperature for up to 3 days, in the fridge for up to a week, or freeze for up to 3 months. When ready to eat, thaw in the fridge or at room temperature.
