Ingredients

Main Ingredients
  • 10 cups popped popcorn (about ½ cup unpopped kernels) Use air-popped or stovetop popcorn.
  • 1 cup semi-sweet chocolate chips Milk chocolate can be used for a sweeter touch.
  • ¼ cup unsalted butter Can substitute with coconut oil.
  • 1 cup Halloween-themed candies Options include Reese’s Pieces, M&M’s, or candy corn.
  • ½ cup festive sprinkles Optional, but highly encouraged!

Method

Preparation
  1. Pop the popcorn according to package instructions using an air popper or stovetop method.
  2. If using stovetop, heat 2 tbsp of oil in a large pot over medium heat, add kernels, and cover. Shake the pot occasionally until popping slows.
Melting the Chocolate
  1. In a microwave, heat the chocolate chips and butter for 30 seconds at a time, stirring in between, until smooth.
  2. Avoid overheating; a double boiler works well to melt chocolate gently.
Combining Ingredients
  1. Pour the melted chocolate over the popcorn and gently toss with a spatula until evenly coated.
Adding Festive Touch
  1. Sprinkle your choice of Halloween candies and sprinkles on top.
  2. Toss once more to distribute evenly.
Setting the Treat
  1. Spread the coated popcorn on a parchment-lined baking sheet and let it cool until the chocolate hardens.
Serving
  1. Once set, break into clusters and serve in festive bowls or zip bags for easy sharing.

Notes

Store leftover popcorn in an airtight container at room temperature for up to a week. It's best enjoyed fresh but can be frozen in an airtight container.
