Preparation
- Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and grease a baking pan.
- In a mixing bowl, combine dry ingredients: flour, cocoa powder, baking powder, and salt.
- In another bowl, whisk together the wet ingredients: eggs, sugar, vanilla, and milk until smooth.
Mixing and Layering
- Slowly add dry ingredients to the wet mixture, stirring gently until fully combined.
- Pour half of the batter into the prepared baking pan.
- Drizzle half of the caramel sauce over the batter and sprinkle with toasted pecans.
- Pour the remaining batter on top and finish with the rest of the caramel and pecans.
Baking
- Bake for 30-35 minutes or until a toothpick comes out clean.
- Allow the cake to cool for at least 15 minutes before serving.
- Drizzle with extra caramel for presentation.
Notes
To ensure the cake is moist, avoid overmixing. Bake gently without opening the oven door.
