  1. Melt butter in a non-stick skillet over medium heat until bubbly.
  2. Add the sliced plantains in a single layer, frying in batches if necessary to avoid overcrowding.
  3. Cook for about 2-3 minutes on each side until they develop a caramelized brown color.
  4. Remove the plantains from the skillet and place them on a plate lined with paper towels to drain excess oil.
  5. Lightly salt the fried plantains if desired and serve warm.
