  • 4-5 lbs flat-cut beef brisket Choose a quality cut with good marbling.
  • 1 package Lipton Onion Soup Mix
  • 1 14 oz can cranberry sauce or jelly Can also use a tangy barbecue sauce or fruit chutney.
  • to taste Salt and pepper Generously season the brisket.

Method
 

Preparation
  1. Generously sprinkle the beef brisket with salt and pepper.
  2. Place the seasoned brisket in a large slow cooker.
  3. Evenly sprinkle the Lipton Onion Soup Mix over the brisket.
  4. Cut cranberry sauce into chunks and add them to the slow cooker.
  5. Set the slow cooker to low and cook for about eight hours.
Serving
  1. Carefully remove the brisket from the slow cooker and place it on a plate.
  2. Wrap the brisket tightly in aluminum foil and refrigerate.
  3. Pour the leftover liquid into a container and refrigerate.
  4. Slice the chilled brisket against the grain before serving.
  5. Arrange the slices in an oven-proof dish and pour the cooking liquid over it.
  6. Cover with foil and heat in a preheated oven at 350°F until hot and bubbly.

Notes

This dish can be prepared ahead of time and is perfect for holiday gatherings. Serve with sides like mashed potatoes, roasted vegetables, or a fresh salad.
