  • 1/2 cup sugar
  • 1/2 cup brown sugar
  • 1/4 cup melted butter Use plant-based butter for a vegan option.
  • 2 pieces eggs Replace with 1/4 cup unsweetened applesauce per egg for a vegan option.
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
Dry Ingredients
  • 1 teaspoon baking soda
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1 1/2 cups all-purpose flour You can use whole wheat flour for a healthier option.
  • 1/2 cup chocolate chips Feel free to experiment with dark or white chocolate.

Method
 

Preparation
  1. Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease a 9x5 inch loaf pan.
  2. In a large mixing bowl, mash the ripe bananas with a fork.
  3. Mix in the peanut butter, sugars, melted butter, eggs, and vanilla until well combined.
  4. Add baking soda and salt, then mix in the flour until just incorporated.
  5. Fold in the chocolate chips.
  6. Pour the batter into the prepared loaf pan and smooth the top.
Baking
  1. Bake for 60-65 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted in the center comes out clean.
Cooling
  1. Let cool in the pan for 10 minutes, then transfer to a wire rack to cool completely.

Notes

Serve warm or at room temperature. This banana bread can be enjoyed plain or with toppings like butter, honey, or even chocolate sauce. To store, wrap tightly and keep at room temperature for up to 3 days, refrigerated for a week, or freeze slices for longer storage.
