Ingredients

Main ingredients
  • 80 g whole rolled porridge oats
  • 200 ml semi-skimmed milk
  • 150 g frozen mixed berries, thawed such as strawberries, raspberries, and blueberries
  • 15 g flaked almonds, toasted
  • 150 g fat-free natural fromage frais

Method

Cooking
  1. Put the oats in a saucepan with the milk and 300ml water.
  2. Cook over a low-medium heat for 3-4 minutes, stirring constantly, until rich and creamy.
  3. Pour into two deep bowls and top with the mixed berries.
  4. Scatter the almonds over and serve with the fromage frais.

Notes

Serve warm in a bowl. Add toppings just before serving for a fresh presentation. Enjoy with a spoonful of fromage frais for a creamy contrast. Leftover porridge can be stored in an airtight container in the fridge for up to two days. Reheat in the microwave, adding milk for creaminess. For extra sweetness, drizzle honey or maple syrup. For thicker porridge, use less water or cook longer. Vary fruits based on preference or season.
