Method

Preparation
  1. Preheat your smoker to 225 degrees Fahrenheit.
  2. Remove any skin from the turkey and pat it dry with paper towels.
  3. In a bowl, mix together sugar, salt, pepper, garlic powder, onion powder, paprika, and coat the turkey breast with the spice rub.
Smoking
  1. Place the turkey breast on the smoker's grill grate, close the lid, and smoke for about 40-45 minutes on each side.
  2. Use a meat thermometer to ensure the internal temperature reaches 165 degrees Fahrenheit.
Resting and Serving
  1. Carefully remove the turkey from the smoker and let it rest for about 15 minutes before slicing.
  2. For extra flavor, brush with melted garlic herb butter while it cooks.
  3. Arrange sliced turkey on a serving platter and garnish with fresh herbs.

Notes

For best results, consider brining the turkey before seasoning. Don't rush the smoking process for maximum flavor. When pairing sides, creamy mashed potatoes, green bean casserole, and stuffing complement the turkey beautifully. Store leftovers tightly wrapped and refrigerated for 3-4 days or freeze for up to 6 months.
