Preparation
- Preheat the oven to 350 degrees F (175 degrees C).
- In a bowl, mix the crushed pretzels, melted butter, and sugar until combined.
- Press this mixture into an ungreased 13×9-inch baking dish.
- Bake for 10 minutes, then cool on a wire rack.
- For the filling, beat together the whipped topping, cream cheese, and sugar in a small bowl until smooth.
- Spread this filling over the cooled pretzel crust and refrigerate until chilled.
Topping
- For the topping, dissolve the gelatin in boiling water in a large bowl.
- Stir in the sweetened strawberries and refrigerate until it is partially set.
- Carefully spoon the strawberry mixture over the filling.
- Refrigerate until firm, about 4 to 6 hours.
- Cut into squares and serve with additional whipped topping and pretzels if desired.
Notes
Make sure the pretzel crust is completely cooled before adding the filling. Allow the gelatin to cool slightly before adding the strawberries to ensure it sets properly. Adjust sugar levels based on taste.
